What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Besides the alarm clock, work, school, your kid, your hunger…
Why do you do even bother?
If you’re going through the the same shit, different day cycle, here’s your opportunity to sit with yourself and get clear on what you’re working towards.
For me, my purpose in life is to experience the full range of human emotion without being attached to it.
This might sound a irrational, but I hope I’ll make sense in a moment.
Besides, I’ve got the emotion part down to a science! Sigh.
I don’t expect to be happy all the time.
Actually, I think that’s the problem with most of us today.
We’re unhappy largely because we expect to be happy all the time.
Not some of the time, not most of the time, but all the time.
But you actually can’t know what happiness is without some kind of gauge.
So Life throws in mediocre, downright depressing, so-so, good, and boring as all get out! in the spaces between you and happiness.
And what do you do to keep from getting stuck in that? You keep it moving.
What keeps you moving?
An inner purpose.
So, live for yourself, your family, for love, for sunny days, for ice cream, for the beach, for a good belly laugh, for a scalp massage, for a hug, for a moment of silence.
Whatever you live for, just do it on purpose.
