I was JUST reading something about this the other day – the writer talked about cursing the red lights, when his dad asked him why he never said anything good about the green lights.
I celebrate the green lights every time I’m on my bicycle and I can make it to the next intersection before the light changes. It signifies that I am getting stronger. When I first started riding my bike, I almost always missed the light. I was taking my time, building my confidence riding alongside cars, and building my endurance.
I also celebrate the red lights, which I stop for, because it means getting to take a break from the pedaling.
